Video Of The Day- Ian Owens With Ernie Haase and Signature Sound- The Old Rugged Cross

Several bloggers have already posted some videos of Ernie Haase and Signature with their new bass singer Ian Owens; so I am a little late to the show (so to speak).

I have to say that Ernie hired an absolute gem of a singer (not just a bass singer) when he hired Ian Owens; Ernie was spot on when he said the Ian is a singer first. Ian is one of the smoothest and purest young bass singers I have ever heard, and as long as he continues in this style he will be in the upper echelon of today’s bass singers in no time at all.

Below are some more links to videos of Ian singing with EHSS.

I Believe– This one is also a great showcase of what Ian is capable of.

Ian is a great example of Bill’s adage that you never replace a quartet man, you just find someone with his own strengths and weaknesses. Ian may not be able to rattle the subwoofers like Timmy could, but Tim couldn’t do what Ian does in the upper register. They’re just completely different singers with different strong points.

Saw EHSS in Tullahoma. The new bass was fantastic. His solo voice brought me to tears and that says something for a bass.

I saw Ernie Haas and Signature Sound in Westminster, Co. last weekend and I thought the group was greatly improved with the two new singers. In my opinion, the bass Ian is MUCH better for the group. Enjoyed it greatly.
