Studio Singing; Demo For “Somebody Touched Me”
A couple of weeks ago David Bruce Murray put up a blog post about finding demos for Southern Gospel soundtracks; these demos give you the chance to hear what certain singers sound like on another groups signature songs. Well I have found one that interests me greatly; Crossroads is coming out with a soundtrack next month of “Somebody Touched Me”, with Chris Allman of Greater Vision featured as the vocalist on the demo. Check it out here.
I personally would love to see Greater Vision put this one on their upcoming (2012) Quartets II project. Chris is one of the purest and best tenors on the road today and this demo is no exception.

Chris is actually so good, he’s a regular at demo vocal tracking sessions here. You’ll find him on quite a few other tracks, with the solo or with harmony parts, if you look through the others.
Chris is one of the best singers in SG hands down; so it is a no-brainier for crossroads to use him in that capacity! I will check out the others if I ever get the time lol…
I like Chris’s version better than the original.
Hmmm I can’t decide; I would have to see Chris sing it live to convince me.
Hey Nate, here’s another one. Lauren Talley singing a demo of Signature Sound’s “I Thirst” as an alto lead. Check it out:

Thanks NSF. I almost like that one better than any version than I have heard… Chris Allman and Lauren Talley are just amazing…
Aw I don’t know… you can’t beat the Cathedrals original, and Doug Anderson on the EHSS re-make is hard to beat.
I did say almost…
There’s also a clip of Chris singing Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up” that is stellar as well. The guy is an absolute singin’ machine!
Yes, and I found him doing “These Are They” as well.
Singing Machine is right!
